The Hard Places Initiative

Indigenous frontline workers often lack support for Godly endurance

Help strengthen indigenous pastors, missionaries, and leaders in the hardest places with training, resourcing, and coaching through the Frontlines Platform

Pastors in the Middle East, North Africa, and other difficult regions are sometimes walking for days, hungry for training that will strengthen them for their vital work. They lead small, indigenous churches that are sending out workers into new hard places so that Jesus’ name may be worshiped among those languages.

Nearly all pastors in Hard Places don’t receive training and lack the ability to access it. Through the Hard Places Initiative, Frontlines is bringing training, encouragement, and resources to these ministry leaders where they are to help them persevere in their own faith and in their ministries to the glory of God.

We define a Hard Place as those areas in the world where it is very difficult and costly to be a Christian. These are typically under-resourced regions with little infrastructure and access to training, where believers often face severe persecution. It is in these very places that Frontlines works to strengthen and encourage indigenous pastors and ministry leaders for the challenges they face on the frontlines.

What is a hard place?

“After taking the Frontlines course, I can confidently say that it has been a transformative experience for me personally and for those around me. One of the key insights I gained is the importance of addressing not only the work itself but also the spiritual welfare of those in ministry. While the work is important, I believe it’s crucial to prioritize the spiritual health of pastors…My vision is to start cohorts with fellow pastors across Africa. I firmly beleive this platform can be a game-changer for many pastors, helping them maintain a healthy balance between their spiritual lives and their ministry work.”

4 MULTIPLY

Once trained through our 7-Heart Marks curriculum and the Frontlines Platform, these leaders will be spiritually strengthened for faithful endurance and equipped to multiply their impact by sending spiritually healthy workers into places where outsiders often cannot go.

We're seeking to raise $450,000 to fully fund training for 150 pastors with lifetime access to the platform, three years of cohort coaching, leading to local translation, teaching, and multiplication of the content through our train-the-trainer model.

The End Goal

  • A gift of $3,000 helps us to equip one pastor with three years of training and the ability to multiply what they’ve learned in their local context.

  • Our initial goal is to raise $30,000 to launch the next cohort with 10 pastors in South Sudan / Sudan.
