“Biblical, sound counseling from the Word. That was what really ministered to this missionary.”

Krista and her husband, Josh, have been joyfully partnering with Frontlines for the past several years. For them, supporting Frontlines Ministries has been a way to tangibly provide care and encouragement to missionaries and frontline workers for the gospel around the world and to multiply their impact for the spread of the gospel.

Over a decade ago, Krista and Josh visited some missionary friends (pictured) serving in South America, and began to see how care for missionaries could look different than they had previously seen or experienced. They saw firsthand the deep impact that their care and their presence there with their friends had, and they caught a vision for caring well for the souls of missionaries—both for these friends on the field and for others.

“We know from personal experience, we’ve seen missionaries go on the field and burn out quickly, and a lot of times its simply because they are not getting the care that they need for the things that they experience. But with a ministry like Frontlines, they can receive that type of care, and hopefully, Lord-willing, stay on the field for the long term for the glory of God.”

Krista shared that since that trip, she also has had a growing desire to learn more and serve in biblical counseling. As part of her training, she needed to get some observation hours. Having already been a partner with Frontlines, Krista asked if there was a session she could sit in on for observation. She was able to join a counseling session conducted by our lead for Women’s Care and Counseling, Kim Seville.

“What stood out to me was first of all how this particular counselor was able to bring her perspective as someone who had served on the field, and how she was able to connect with the missionary over that, but how that wasn't the primary thing that she brought to the table. It was giving biblical, sound counseling from the word. I was able to watch how that was what really ministered to this missionary.”

For Krista and her husband, partnering with Frontlines has provided an avenue to love and serve brothers and sisters on the field in ways that care deeply for their souls, expanding Krista and Josh’s impact for the gospel and their joy in helping to make this work possible.
